This grantee is still in the process of their leadership development with the JWH initiative. This profile will be completed once the grantee has finalised their activities.

Koteh Kolevi is a community developer from Togo with a passion for the development of underprivileged communities in rural areas. After obtaining his certificate at the Institut Supérieur de Manegement et de Développement, he gained work experience in various NGOs before working at Actions en Faveur de l’Homme et de la Nature (AFHON).  AFHON has been created to gather inputs from a variety of actors in order to seek multidimensional and multidisciplinary solutions for development issues. Koteh is tasked with implementing community development and stakeholders’ consultation projects at grassroots level. Not only does he take the work he is assigned to very seriously, he also likes to go the extra mile and take on a bigger workload. His nominator tells us that Koteh managed to rescue projects he was not assigned to upon his arrival at AFHON. He did this by staying in contact with the communities involved and by accompanying in overcoming the challenges they meet in their development.

Koteh was nominated for a JWH Initiative grant in order to enhance his efficiency in improving the living conditions of underprivileged communities while preserving the environment. Koteh plans to do this by following English courses in order to practice his profession with English-speaking colleagues and to participate effectively in international conferences and discussions. He will also take a course on the “energy approach”. This will broaden his knowledge on renewable energy, rural electrification and its influence on the rural economy. Koteh plans to use the concepts and technology of renewable or solar energy to help rural communities adapt to climate change.
