Tell us about yourself: My name is Patrick Edema from Uganda. I am an environment and climate change activist fighting against fossil fuels projects in Uganda. These projects not only cause threats to climate but also the environment and land rights of the vulnerable and voices communities especially the women, youths, elderly and others.
What are you planning to do with the grant? I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Conservation and Natural Resources Management at Kyambogo University, Uganda.
What do you hope the JWH grant will bring you? The JWH grant has created an opportunity for me to expound on my knowledge and skills on issues relating to environment and other natural resources. I hope to establish a youth led organization that will continue campaigning and desisting projects that are undermining environmental conservation and climate change mitigation in Uganda and the East African region.
What is your dream? My future dream is to establish a youth led organization the will work to promote environmental conservation and climate mitigation in Uganda and the region.
